Rooted on the Farm

YOUTH MENTORING PROGRAM

aPPLY NOW

Mentoring local youth through sustainable agriculture.

Our youth mentoring program invites young people to step into a living classroom where nature, community, and hands‑on learning come together. Guided by experienced mentors, participants learn practical skills in regenerative agriculture, animal care, and environmental stewardship while building confidence, teamwork, communication skills and a sense of purpose. The farm becomes a place to grow—both food and future leaders—offering meaningful experiences that connect young people to the land and to themselves.

more than just farming…

Students learn valuable skills.

Communication & Collaboration

Working side‑by‑side with mentors and peers teaches youth how to express ideas clearly, listen actively, and work as part of a team. Daily farm tasks become opportunities to practice cooperation and build trust.

Responsibility & Ownership

Caring for animals, tending crops, and managing shared tools helps youth understand the importance of follow‑through. They learn that their actions have real impact, building a strong sense of accountability.

Problem Solving & Adaptability

Farm life is full of surprises — weather shifts, unexpected challenges, and changing priorities. Youth learn to think on their feet, troubleshoot issues, and adapt with confidence.

Leadership & Initiative

As participants grow more comfortable, they take on leadership roles, guide younger peers, and make decisions that support the farm community. These experiences nurture independence and self‑assurance.

Environmental Stewardship

Beyond agriculture, youth develop a deeper respect for the natural world. They learn how their choices affect ecosystems and gain a lifelong appreciation for sustainability.

Entrepreneurial Skills

From understanding how food moves from seed to market to brainstorming small farm‑based projects, youth gain early exposure to entrepreneurial skills. They explore creativity, resourcefulness, and basic business concepts that empower them to turn ideas into action.
